Regarding Your Assets!

Not sure what cycle infrastructure your council area has? Transport Initiatives can provide the answer by auditing and digitally mapping your precious assets.

We have recently completed audits for the City of York Council and Sunderland City Council. The exact information gathered is agreed with the clients but as a minimum should include, cycle lanes, paths, barriers, parking, crossings, signs and Advanced Stop Lines. These are referenced and photographed and their condition noted. Mapping of Sunderland cycle paths is shown on the left.

To save money the audit can be combined with a Pedestrian/Cycle Skills Network Audit and the auditors can also collect a range of additional data or can be asked to suggest improvements and report hazards.

The York audit has resulted in the council widening cycle lanes on some main roads and removing vegetation that was narrowing cycle paths.
