Part of the Green Travel Plan map
As part of the Leicester University Travel Plan we produced a green travel map. This was based on a Cycle Skills Network Audit of the part of Leicester between the University and the halls at Oadby. It was given to all new students arriving at the University. In addition to the standard CSNA output we also included information on signed cycle routes (yellow border to the roads) and bus routes associated with the University (blue boarders).

How is your carbon footprint? – This predated electric cars.
We also included a bit of information on the carbon footprint of different forms of travel. We didn’t include the carbon footprint of sitting in your student flat and downloading everything you needed while burning your toast at the same time.
At a Leicester City Cycle Forum Meeting one cyclist observed that if there was a map this good for a quarter of the city, why couldn’t there be one for the other three quarters? (Posted 18/03/24)
